Role Description

As part of UniFi-Protect team, you will need to think out of the box, break every impossibility, and be open to discussion in pursuit of perfection.  We don’t just expect you to build products simply but to be proud of what we do. Responsibilities

• Mainly focus on UniFi-Protect or UniFi-Access product line device firmware development
• Help to develop a complete device firmware and deliver in great quality
• Implement kernel mode and user mode applications for UniFi-Protect product line device firmware, from bootloader up to user-space applications, like Linux Kernel, rootfs, Websocket, RESTful API design, etc.
• Work closely with BSP, 3A, HW, ID, Backend, Mobile, FE, PM and PA team

Requirements

• Familiar with nVidia Jetson Orin NX platform
• Deep knowledge of Debian/Ubuntu architecture
• Good understanding of Debian packaging policy, tools and techniques
• A genuine passion for embedded software development.
• Proficiency in C/C++.
• Good understanding and experience with ARM platform
• Experience with debuggers such as gdb, strace, etc.
• Embedded software development experience in Linux driver and both kernel & user modes are desired
• Familiar with some form of scripting (bash, python, nodejs).
• Familiar with Git version control
• A team player, who is very self-motivated, loves difficult challenges, and is goal driven
• Ability to deliver on tight schedules.
• BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English to work effectively within a highly collaborative environment with colleagues around the world.

Nice to have

• Experience with development boards such as Raspberry Pi, Arduino, BeagleBoard
• Experience with build system such as OpenWRT/BuildRoot/Yocto
• Familiar with standard hardware protocols (gpio, usb, uart, pwm, flash, spi, i2c, ...)
• 5 yrs+ working experience as embedded firmware engineer
