Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Failure Analysis Engineer to evaluate and analyze field failures of our products, detect trends in failures, and to inform and provide advice for best engineering practices to reduce failure rates. This position requires global, cross-functional expertise relative to product manufacturing and related business processes to ensure product quality. The qualified candidate will apply their expertise and knowledge to help ensure Ubiquiti achieves and maintains an effective product quality. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage RMA testing logistics
  • Establish, document, implement and maintain Ubiquiti’s RMA process 
  • Perform failure analysis on returned equipment
  • Rapidly establish test procedures for discovered failures
  • Prepare written reports of failures for product managers and teams
  • Assist in Ubiquiti's product manufacturing specifically to reduce in-field failures

Educational & Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related major, plus at least 5 years of direct experience working in electronics design/manufacturing and networking equipment OR 8 years of direct experience in lieu of BSEE or related degree
  • Comprehensive understanding of electronics design and manufacturing
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills; exercises sound judgment in applying these skills
  • Strong collaborative, organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written/verbal/communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with, and automation of test and measurement equipment
  • Knowledge of Python programming language for test automation
  • Emissions and Susceptibility diagnosis/suppression experience a plus
