Responsibilities (What he/she will do after join UI):

• Design products from both customer and engineer's perspectives,
  create innovative ideas and deliver products with good quality on time.
• Independently work closely with cross functional teams and manufacturing partners,
  demonstrate leadership and ownership  in every task throughout all development stages, from PoC to mass production.
• Design and create assembly architectures to integrate mechanical, electrical, industrial design and manufacturing requirements. Communicate ideas and design specifications through 3D model, 2D drawing, prototypes, sketches and slides.
• Explore, analyze and adopt material, technologies and manufacturing processes.
•  Take ownership of  identifying and resolving all reliability concerns efficiently. 
• Conduct competitive product analysis  covering component, material, processes, mechanisms, andBOM costs
• Establish mechanical design guidelines for wireless / automotive / industrial products.
• Ability to travel as needed

Minimum Qualifications (MUST-haves) :

• Minimum of 5 yrs experience in product design in product development.
• Experienced in LTE / 5G / LoRa / Industrial wireless product design.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (Solidworks preferred).
• Prior experience with outdoor / industrial-grade wireless products.
• System integration experience, including electro-mechanical components, thermals, antenna, .etc.
• Thorough understanding of major manufacturing processes, such as injection molding, stamping, CNC machining, aluminum extrusion and die casting.
• Familiarity with cosmetic processes like spraying, powder coating, anodizing, electroplating, chemical etching, silkscreen printing...etc.
• Proficient knowledge of the assembly process. For example, sealing test, adhesive lamination, glue dispensing, ultrasonic welding, heat staking...etc.
• Strong communication skills to independently collaborate with cross functional teams
  and suppliers for executing  “best” designs.
• Proactive, open minded, and positive attitude toward challenges.
• Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-haves / Plus) :

• Experience shipping multiple consumer products in a lead or staff engineer role.
